If you've grown up between multiple cultures and as an adult feel confused about who you are, what you want, or where you belong, you're not alone

Having identity issues is one of the most common challenges experienced by Third Culture Kids (TCKs) — people who grew up in a culture(s) that's different from their parents or their nationality.

Maybe you've tried to define yourself by all the places you've lived, the things you've experienced, and the people you know. But no matter how much you know about the different parts and pieces of yourself and your life, you're still left with the feeling that you don't know who you are or where you fit in.

How identity issues show up and persist in your life

As a TCK, you may try to do the best you can by pursuing the normal things in life: go to school, move, get jobs, have relationships, maybe have a family. But you never feel content, and life just doesn't feel right. You want to make the right decisions in your personal or professional life, but you're not sure what to do. You may have stress and anxiety, or feelings of confusion, doubt, insecurity, or disconnection as you try to move forward in different areas of your life.

If you're someone who is introspective, you may have already tried to cope with or manage your challenges and the thoughts, emotions, or memories they evoke in you. Maybe you've taken time to reflect on them, tried to find new perspectives and strategies, or even sought help.

But emotionally, you still feel stuck in the same place.

You can find resolution to your identity issues and emotional challenges by addressing their root causes

Identity issues and the related stress, anxiety, and other unpleasant emotions you experience in your daily life are often symptoms of deeper underlying causes related to specific emotional experiences you've had throughout your life. These causes include deeply held emotions and beliefs which keep parts of you stuck in the past, impacting your sense of self and how you experience your life each day.

By combining a powerful mind-body therapeutic approach and coaching, I gently guide you through a journey of self-discovery and healing, helping you to uncover and be freed from these past emotions and beliefs. Our work together empowers you to understand yourself clearly by removing what's been getting in the way.

Once you understand who you are, you can begin to create a life where you feel that you belong

When you have a clear understanding of who you are, it will lead to three key changes:

You'll find
self-acceptance and peace

You'll no longer feel like you're not enough — culturally or otherwise. You'll understand on a deep emotional level that you don't have to be one type of person or another or fit into some mold. You'll feel comfortable exactly as you are and be free of recurring stress and anxiety.

You'll gain
direction and certainty

You'll let go of and stop adapting to what you think others expect from you or want you to be, and be able to focus on what you want. You'll no longer be hampered by worries of what ifs. Instead, you'll gain clarity and confidence to make decisions about your life and take action with certainty.

You'll finally find
home and belonging

You'll let go of unhelpful attachments. You'll be able to choose which parts of your cultures you want to appreciate and enjoy. You'll create a life on your own terms with people, places, and things that are supportive and nurturing of who you are, give you connection, and bring you joy.

As a TCK myself, I understand the unique and complex challenges that TCKs experience while growing up and how difficult it can be to resolve resulting identity issues.

I use a gentle, collaborative approach to help TCKs navigate the intricate layers of their identity and find resolution to these challenges.
